1. Allergen Information

The Pit and Platter provides allergen information for all menu items in compliance with UK Food Information Regulations 2014.

The 14 major allergens are: cereals containing gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, peanuts, soybeans, milk, tree nuts, celery, mustard, sesame seeds, sulphur dioxide/sulphites, lupin, and molluscs.

Customers must inform us of any allergies or dietary restrictions at the time of booking.
2. Client Responsibilities

Clients must provide a complete and accurate list of guests’ allergies, intolerances, or dietary requirements.

Any changes to dietary needs after booking should be communicated as soon as possible.

Clients accept that cross-contamination may occur despite all reasonable precautions.
3. Preparation & Safety Measures

All food is prepared in compliance with UK Food Safety Regulations, including:

Proper storage and temperature control

Hygiene standards for staff and equipment

Safe handling of allergens and separate preparation areas where possible

Equipment and vehicles are regularly cleaned and maintained to prevent contamination.
4. Limitation of Liability

The Pit and Platter cannot guarantee that any dish is completely free of allergens due to shared kitchens, equipment, or supplier ingredients.

Clients acknowledge that by booking, they accept the risk of cross-contamination.

Our liability for any allergic reaction is limited to the cost of the affected food item(s), except in cases of gross negligence.
5. Food Safety Compliance

We comply with The Food Safety and Hygiene (England) Regulations 2013 and hold relevant food hygiene certificates.

All staff handling food are trained in hygiene and allergen management.

Food is transported and served in a manner that ensures safety and freshness.
6. Customer Communication

All allergen and dietary requests must be provided in writing or via official booking forms.

Any verbal instructions alone may not be sufficient to guarantee allergen safety.
7. Updates to Policy

The Pit and Platter reserves the right to update these terms to reflect changes in food safety laws or industry best practices. Updated terms will be published on the website and communicated to clients where relevant.
